Las Terazzas Golf Course

I have looked at Nicklaus Design website and see that our golf course is due to open in April 2009.

Although this probably doesn't mean a lot in real terms it at least gives some hope that it will be a reality sooner rather than later.

I have emailed Nicklaus Design to ask if they expect to meet the projected opening date, if they reply I will let you know!

TERRAZAS AS IT IS NOW & WHAT IT IS TO LOOK LIKE

I have many photographs taken from many angles around the site. Given that most of them show undeveloped land they need a little explanation so here goes.

I visited in late June/early July & again in early August. I was aware of substantial work in connection with phase 1 but it was less apparent the changes elsewhere over 5-6weeks until I looked at the respective photographs.

The showroom model viewed from the east side where the remaining apartment blocks will be.

The following photos are how it looks this summer.

August 2008

The trees here are on the roundabout just beside where the town centre will be.

Further down the east side changes are similar, there is much more evidence of earth-moving at the southern end of the resort and also evidence of road building and the shaping of the lakes.

View from east side with the islands, the chill-out bar and the town centre in view.

You can see some work in shaping of the lake on which the islands are to be built.

From the southern end with lake, the clubhouse and the islands. To the left the penthouses run the length of the west side and in the far distance the apartments of Phase1.

AUGUST 2008

The following is the southern boundary where preparatory work has been done and the cranes are in place for the Penthouses.

On the western side the Penthouses are to look like this:

Further up the view should eventually be like this:

Where the road which runs behind the Penthouses on the western side runs to the town centre the view is as follows at present:

The area to the right of the island of trees is the site for the Town Centre.

A little further on you come to phase 1 where some of our fellow purchasers are preparing to take possession. There are so many photographs of them that I am not posting any more here.

As a final thought, I spoke to a Polaris veteran recently who told me that Polaris had made but had learnt from mistakes at Mar Menor when constructing La Torre. He suggested that not only have they done so but expect to improve further as the other resorts complete. Although the waiting can be frustrating I feel we will be fortunate at Terrazas not only in the above but also the fact that we are so close to La Torre and will have easy use of their facilities as we wait for Terrazas to complete fully.

If you have not been recently to see for yourself the final photograph is of phase1 taken from an apartment balcony I stayed at recently on La Torre.

Polaris World Completion Guide

I have noticed on some forums that there is quite a bit of confusion about what is involved in the completion process. I found "Polaris World Completions Guide" on the Sunseeker Homes website quite useful.
Whilst it undoubtedly is part information/part advertising services, what it does do is identify all of the things you should consider.
If you are interested follow this link and all you need do is enter a few details and you will receive the guide by email.

I want to make clear that I have no connection with Sunseeker Homes, I did not buy my property through them and have not used any of their services. If you use their services that is a matter for yourself and my only recommendation is that their guide is useful.

That said, I would like to thank Mike Knivett for his permission to use this service given that all who are likely to read this have already purchased. He has also suggested that you may be interested in a car hire comparison site which he assures me is much cheaper than Polaris World's car rental offer (mind you that won't really come as a surprise to anyone.)

I hope this may be of some interest.
